RASFF 2019 Annual Report

The European Commission has published its RASFF Annual Report for 2019. It can be found: HERE. Infonographics can be found: HERE.

According to the report: “Fruits and vegetables” have reached the 2nd place over meat and meat products in total number of notifications. The category of "fruit and vegetables" also include nuts, dried and processed fruit and vegetables. However according to infonographics of the report (above) the Commission received 506 notifications on fruit and vegetables and 67 on nuts, nut products and seeds.

In 2019, a total of 4118 original notifications were transmitted through RASFF, of which 1173 were classified as alert, 546 as information for follow-up, 882 as information for attention, 1499 as border rejection and 18 as news. Compared to 2018, the number of alert notifications, implying a serious health risk of a product circulating on the market, rose by 5%. The increase in alerts is significant for the sixth year in a row.
